What batteries work in the Fenix LR35R LED flashlight?

The Fenix LR35R runs on two 21700 lithium-ion batteries. To get the full 10,000 lumen output, you need to use the Fenix ARB-L21-4000P lithium-ion batteries which are included with the flashlight. If you use other 21700 batteries, you will get a maximum output of 8500 - 9000 lumens.

Does the LR35R have overheat protection?

Yes, the LR35R does have overheat protection. The light may become hot, especially when used at higher output levels. If the light ever reaches 140° F (60° C) it will drop the output to a lower level to allow it to cool. Once the light has cooled below this threshold it will allow access to all brightness levels again.

How to I read the battery level indicator on the LR35R?

The battery level indicator features a red or green light that is either solid or flashing.

  • Solid green light: 100%-85%
  • Flashing green light: 85%-50%
  • Solid red light: 50%-25%
  • Flashing red light: 25%-1%

During recharging the light will be solid red while charging and solid green when full.

Does the LR35R feature a lockout function?

Yes, it does.

While the flashlight is off, quickly double-click the side switch to activate the lock.

To deactivate the lock, double-click the side switch. The light will turn on in the lowest setting.

Amazing Light for Its Size

"I bought the light specifically to view a hillside across my pond in my front yard. The far bank is about 100 yards away with a feeder at about 150 yards. Bears were destroying my feeder at night. With the LR35R I can not only illuminate the feeder but the whole hillside back to the woodline 200 yards away. Now anytime our golden retrievers alert us to a bear I turn on the flashlight and the bears scatter like they were caught breaking into a bank. It's a great light, super bright, and compact enough to store hanging from our key holder by the front door! Sidenote: I purchased Fenix because I have a PD35 for work that I have carried for well over a decade."

LR35R gets too hot

"Loved the fantatic brightness but it got so hot after a minute or so, I couldn't use it. Sadly had to reutn it. I've owned many, many Fenix lights, this is the first one I've returned."

AWESOME LIGHTS!!

"Fenix makes the BEST lights by far! I have at least 8 different ones from headlamps to the LR35R. This LR35R is a power force from bright enough to see clearly over a city block ahead to the wonderful adjustable brightness red lights. In security the red light comes in handy during night shifts so as to not be left seeing blinding flashes behind your eyelids. Love that it auto-dims if it’s close to my hand and near the burning point. Love that the design prevents it from rolling away from you. Also cannot get over the fact that it can be used as emergency power to my phone in an emergency where my phone’s battery is nearly drained. Once again Fenix for the WIN!!!"

Great Light Does The Job Right

"This is a fantastic light. It fits your hand perfectly and is super comfortable in any way you carry it. The lights different modes is the standard for most lights these day. However, switching between them is easy and quick. This light is a definite every day carry for me!"
