Meet Marque Baldwin, a recently retired police officer for the Broken Arrow Police Department (BAPD), an integral team member of Land Run Brands, and a Fenix-Store sponsored athlete. During his 21 years of service on the police force, Baldwin was awarded the BAPD Officer of the Year in 2012 and a National Valor Award by the North American Police Work Dog Association in 2015. These are just a few of his accomplishments throughout his career. He obtained National Accreditation as a Police Canine Trainer and served several years on the State of Oklahoma's Drug Dog Advisory Board. Though Baldwin retired and closed this particular chapter in his life, his service remains invaluable.
At present, Baldwin is the Warehouse and Shipping Supervisor for the Land Run Brands Team and he is an avid user of Fenix lights. During his years as a Canine Officer, Baldwin found he was a fan of the Fenix TK26 and the Fenix RC20.
Today, Baldwin stays extremely active outdoors and uses multiple Fenix products for various reasons from hunting to biking. When he prepares for a hunt, he uses a Fenix CL30R lantern at his camp. On the hunt, he uses the Fenix RC20 along with the AOF-L green filter and AOF-L blue filter which help him to enter and exit the woods without disturbing the wildlife and track wounded prey.
When he’s not hunting, he enjoys running and biking. To stay safe on a run he uses the Fenix E-Lite, turning on the red flashing mode and attaching it to the front of his shorts while running toward traffic. When he’s running away from traffic, he simply switches the E-Lite to the back of his shorts to increase his visibility for traffic on the road.
Not only is he a crucial team member of the Land Run Brands family, but he is also a Fenix-Store sponsored athlete, training hard for competitions and meeting each goal he sets for himself.
Even in his youth, Baldwin enjoyed challenging himself in endurance athletics. In his high school and college years, he was involved in various athletic pursuits including cross-country, wrestling, and track. These experiences in endurance sports solidified his position and continued assignment as a Canine Officer and a Special Operations Team Member for the BAPD.
At the age of 40, Baldwin sought a new challenge: bodybuilding. He trained hard and competed in bodybuilding events enjoying the competition and achieving his goals. In 2011 he competed in the NPC Battle of the Bodies in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and won first place in the Men's Lightweight Novice Division and third place in the Men's Masters Division.
Again in 2011, he competed in the NPC Oklahoma State Championship in Tulsa, Oklahoma winning first place in the Men's Lightweight Novice Division and first place in the Men's Lightweight Open Division. Later in 2014, he competed in the NPC Oklahoma State Championship in Tulsa, Oklahoma where he won second place in the Men's Middleweight Novice Division.
To this day, Baldwin pursues athletic endeavors and is currently training for the Ironman Triathlon. He keeps his eyes on the future and has registered to compete in the Michigan 70.3 Ironman scheduled for September of this year as well as the Tulsa Ironman that will be occurring spring of next year.
Baldwin's goal is to become competitive enough to qualify as an Age Grouper for the Ironman 70.3 World Championship and the Ironman World Championships held in Kona, Hawaii. To accomplish this goal, Baldwin trains vigorously 6 days a week covering swimming, biking, and running in preparation for these races.
Through his years of service in the police force have come to an end, Baldwin has stayed far from stagnant, constantly challenging himself and achieving his goals.
