Mounting on Rifles and AR-15s
While the GL Series lights are built pistol-first, they mount just as securely to rifles and AR-15s. Every light and rail mount in this collection is compatible with Picatinny rail — the same standard used on most AR-15 handguards and rifle forends — so you can run a Fenix weapon light on a rifle, not just a pistol. For M-LOK handguards, use a short Picatinny adapter section to create a mounting point, then attach the light as you would to any Picatinny rail.

Yes. Fenix GL Series lights include Picatinny rail compatibility, so they mount to AR-15 handguards and rifle Picatinny rails, not just handguns.
What's the difference between a weapon light and a regular flashlight?
Weapon lights are built for recoil resistance, quick-detach rail mounting, and momentary/constant-on activation designed to be operated one-handed while gripping a firearm — a regular flashlight isn't rated for mounted recoil or built for that kind of switch access.
Do I need a pressure switch?
A pressure switch lets you activate the light without moving your firing grip, which matters most for rifles and duty use. For a pistol-mounted light with an integrated switch, like the GL06 or GL22, a separate pressure switch usually isn't necessary.
