The Fenix TK35UE stood as one of the best tactical flashlights you could get from Fenix. With its powerful output, versatile operation, and compact design, it’s no wonder so many flashlight enthusiasts and police officers flocked to this light. So we’re all very excited to talk about the upgrade that Fenix just released - the Fenix TK35UE V2.0! You can expect the same great features of the TK35UE along with a few other upgrades that make this tactical flashlight stand out among the others.
Baddest and Brightest Flashlight in a Compact Form
The first version of the TK35UE delivered a solid 3200 lumens, making it extremely bright for a flashlight of its size. As for the upgraded TK35UE V2.0 flashlight, it’s more compact, more lightweight, and delivers an impressive 5000 lumens! You gotta love where technology is taking us. Flashlights are getting more powerful while becoming easier to carry.
The Fenix TK35UE V2.0 is equipped with three Luminus SST40 LEDs with a color temperature of 6500k. Because there are multiple LEDs in this compact flashlight, you might think this is a floodlight. Actually, the TK35UE V2.0 can deliver a beam distance of up to 400 meters. So you'll be seeing a great throw with this tactical flashlight.
We mentioned before that this is a compact flashlight so let's get into that now. This flashlight is a little over 5.5 inches long with a width that's a little over 1.5 inches. This is in no way an everyday carry flashlight unless your everyday carry flashlight.
However, Fenix designed this LED light with a flat body and included a wide pocket clip so that the light is easier to carry. You can choose to carry it in a holster or you can clip it right onto your belt or pocket. This makes it useful for police officers, security code military personnel, or anyone who needs a general use or tactical flashlight.
Batteries for the Fenix TK35UE V2.0 Tactical Flashlight
Just like its predecessor, the Fenix TK35UE V2.0 runs on two 18650 batteries or four CR123A batteries. So it is an 18650 flashlight and it has the added benefit of being able to use CR123A lithium batteries. The TK35UE V2.0 doesn't come with the batteries so you'll need to purchase those separately. We recommend you purchase the Fenix 3500 milliamp 18650 batteries. These Fenix batteries are protected and powerful.
In an emergency situation, the TK35UE V2.0 can run on either a single 18650 battery or two CR123 batteries. So if you find that you need your flashlight but you only have one 18650 battery available, you can still use your Fenix TK35UE V2.
Also, this tactical flashlight comes with a handy battery status indicator. The battery status indicator will come on anytime you turn the flashlight on and from there you can get an idea of how much power the battery has left in it. If you plan on using this light for work or for any long-term use like on a trip, the battery indicator will help you decide when it's time to charge your batteries and how much to use your flashlight.
From Tactical Flashlight to General Use Flashlight
Now it's time to talk about the TK35UE V2.0’s operation. You have the tactical switch and the functional switch along with a rotatable toggle switch. With the tactical switch, you can tap it for momentary-on and single click it to turn on or off the flashlight. The functional switch allows you to cycle through the different brightness levels and you can press and hold for the strobe mode.
Now many Fenix flashlights require the light to be on to use the strobe mode. What makes the TK35UE V2.0 one of the best tactical flashlights is the fact that you can access the strobe mode while the flashlight is off. So just hold and press down that functional switch to access the strobe mode whenever needed.
With the toggle switch, you can choose between locking out the flashlight to prevent it from turning on accidentally or you can select the Tactical Mode or the Duty Mode. The toggle switch makes it easy to switch between the modes making the light extremely versatile. On the Tactical Mode, you'll have access to a high output of 3500 lumens as well as the strobe mode.
With the Duty Mode, you'll have access to 5 brightness levels ranging from 30 lumens to 500 lumens along with the strobe mode. The Tactical Mode is excellent for law enforcement or potentially dangerous situations where you only need a higher brightness level and a defense mode which is exactly what the strobe mode is. The ability to switch between the Tactical and Duty using the toggle switch is what makes the TK35UE V2.0 an excellent tactical flashlight that can be used in a multitude of situations.
Heavy Duty Tac Light Ready for Action
It's not a Fenix light if it's not durable. Fenix ensures that all its products are long-lasting and can withstand some heavy use. You can expect the same high quality in the TK35UE V2.0. It is rated IP68 waterproof which means you can submerge the flashlight into 2 meters of water for 30 minutes and it'll function perfectly fine. It is also impact-resistant up to 1 meter. So while we wouldn't recommend throwing your flashlight, if you accidentally drop it, it'll still work.
So that about covers it for the features of the newest member of the Fenix light family, the TK35UE V2.0. If you're familiar with its predecessor, the TK35UE, you'll probably see a lot of similarities with this light and you'll see some upgrades, most notably the smaller size and higher output. Make sure to take a look at the Fenix TK35UE V2.0 tactical flashlight.
