Our very own Marque Baldwin is back at Fenix Store headquarters, this time with a shiny new medal for completing the Michigan 70.3 Ironman, which took place on September 12, 2021. Marque competed in the 50-54 age group division, which consisted of a 1.2-mile swim, 56-mile bike, and 13.1-mile run. Even though Marque sustained an injury in the lower quadriceps of his right leg, he still finished 103rd out of 160 in his age group.
Marque mentions: "While competing in the Ironman Series, it is apparent that it's a humbling experience. Ironman is a competition against yourself and one's natural inclination to give up."
What is next for Marque?
He is currently training for the Tulsa Ironman scheduled for May 22, 2022, with plans to return to Michigan next Fall for the 2022 Michigan Ironman 70.3. His ultimate goal is to qualify for the 2022 Ironman 70.3 World Championships held in Taupo, New Zealand.
