Battery Specifications

  • Fenix ARB-LP1900 (dedicated battery, 3.8V): Recommended
  • Alkaline Battery (AAA, 1.5V): Usable
  • Ni-MH Battery (AAA, 1.2V): Usable
  • Rechargeable Battery, Li-ion (10440, 3.7V): Banned

Do not mix batteries of different brands, sizes, capacities or types — doing so may cause damage to the lamp or to the batteries being used. Only use the recommended or usable batteries mentioned in this user manual. Using low-quality batteries or mishandling batteries (such as short-circuiting or overheating) could lead to combustion and jeopardize the safety of users and property. Any adverse effects resulting from the use of low-quality batteries are not covered by any Fenix warranty or liability. Using quality batteries with circuit protection will reduce the potential for combustion or explosion. It is recommended to use a Fenix ARB-LP1900 battery.

Battery Replacement: open the back battery cap to insert the battery in accordance with the polarity marks, then close the back battery cap.

Charging

Uncover the anti-dust cap and plug the USB Type-C side of the charging cable into the charging port of the lamp. When charging, the indicators will flash from left to right to display the charging status; all four indicators will be constant-on after charging is completed. With the lamp switched off, the normal charging time of using a Fenix ARB-LP1900 battery is about 3 hours from depleted to fully charged with a 5V/1A or above charging adapter.

Note: only Low output can be operated while charging. Recharge a stored lamp every four months to maintain the optimum performance of the battery.

Battery Level Indication: with the lamp switched off, single click either switch to check the battery status. Each time the light is turned on, the indicator(s) will show the battery level and last for 3 seconds. Four lights on: 100%-80%. Three lights on: 80%-60%. Two lights on: 60%-40%. One light on: 40%-20%. One light flashes: 20%-1%.

Note: this feature only works with a Fenix ARB-LP1900 battery.

Impact Resistance: 1 meter | Waterproof: IP66

Note: according to the ANSI/PLATO FL1 standard, the above specifications are the results produced by Fenix through its laboratory testing using one ARB-LP1900 battery under the temperature of 21±3°C and humidity of 50%-80%; the true performance of this product may vary according to different working environments and the actual battery used. *The Turbo output is measured in total of runtime including output at reduced levels due to temperature or the protection mechanism in the design.

Intelligent Overheat Protection

The lamp will accumulate a lot of heat when used at high output levels for extended periods. When the lamp reaches a temperature of 55°C/131°F or above, it will automatically step down a few lumens to reduce the temperature. When the temperature drops below 55°C/131°F, the lamp will gradually recall the preset output level.

Low-Voltage Warning

When the voltage level drops below the preset level, the headlamp is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until Low output is reached. When this happens in Low output, one of the battery level indicators blinks to remind you to recharge or replace the battery. This feature only works with a Fenix ARB-LP1900 battery.

Headband Assembly

Notice: the headband is factory assembled and ready to use right out of the package. Rotate the dial clockwise to tighten the headband, and rotate the dial anticlockwise to loosen the headband. After loosening the headband to its maximum length, rotate the dial in either direction to tighten it.

Usage and Maintenance

  • Disassembling the sealed head can cause damage to the lamp and will void the warranty.
  • Fenix recommends using an excellent quality battery.
  • If the lamp will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery, or the lamp could be damaged by electrolyte leakage.
  • Lock the lamp or take out the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transportation.
  • Periodic cleaning of the battery contacts improves the lamp's performance, as dirty contacts may cause flickering, intermittent shining, or failure to illuminate: check whether the lamp is locked (slide the lock switch to unlock), for a poor battery level (replace or recharge), or for dirty threads/PCB board contacts (clean with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol).
  • If the above methods don't work, please contact the distributor.

Lightweight and Good Features

"I like this headlamp a lot, with easy interface, a warm lower output white LED and cool higher output white LED separately controlled. Regarding the red LEDs, the 2 modes are easy to get to (double click either of the white light buttons). My feeling on the red modes is that I like the solid mode but would prefer a simple red blinking light for the 2nd mode instead of the SOS signal. Band is easy to adjust."
