A compact Flashlight | Fenix UC30 Rechargeable EDC Light
Hello everyone and welcome to Fenix Store. Today I'm going to talk to you about the upgraded Fenix UC30 LED rechargeable flashlight. This is the 2017 edition, so this is the upgrade to the old Fenix UC30. With this new Fenix UC30, one addition is that the max lumens is now 1,000 lumens, instead of the 960 lumens that the old UC30 had. This upgrade of just 40 lumens may not seem like much, but they edited the LED that is inside and now it will throw the light over 200 feet further than the old UC30. The Fenix UC30 2017 edition is a micro USB rechargeable flashlight that does feature a very compact size. It's very lightweight. It has high output and exquisite workmanship. It is fitted with a Cree XP-L HI LED, delivering, like I said, a max output of 1,000 lumens and then the beam distance is 253 meters.
The light is powered by either a single 18650 rechargeable battery or it can use two CR123A lithium batteries. It does have five output levels plus a strobe mode. All of those modes are controlled by the single switch that is on the side of the flashlight. That features a stainless steel look now instead of the clear button that is on the old UC30. The new stainless steel switch does include a battery level indication. Then the UC30 that is IP68 rated, so all of this will make the Fenix UC30 indispensable for family use and outdoor activities. Like I said, the Fenix UC30 is micro USB rechargeable. It does include an 18650. The 18650 rechargeable battery can be charged while inside the light via the micro USB port that is in the flashlight's neck, making this very fast and convenient.
When charging, you have a status indicator. If it's red, that means it is in the charging process. If it is green, that will mean your Fenix UC30 is fully charged. When not plugged in, you still have the battery level indication. When the light is turned off, a single click of a switch, the battery level indicator will turn on displaying the battery status for three seconds. Like I mentioned before, the Fenix UC30 does have the one side switch. The one switch will control all five output levels and along with the strobe. What you do, we'll press and hold the side switch for a little over half a second to turn the light on and off. Whenever you have the light switch on, a single click of the side switch will cycle through the modes from turbo to eco to low to med and to high.
Then whether the light is on or off, press and hold the side switch for 1.2 seconds. That'll enter the strobe mode. One more clicking, the light will turn back to the last used brightness level. Then the Fenix UC30 does offer a lock out function. To do so you will simply double click the side switch. You double click it, that'll lock it and then simply double click once again to unlock. The Fenix UC30 is IP68 rated protection, so it's essentially fearless of harsh environments. It's totally protected against dust and foreign objects and is submersible up to two meters. It does come with two complimentary spare rubber switch boots. Be sure to replace the USB cover to guarantee the waterproof ability of the flashlight. Then along with all three spare rubber switch boots, you have a purple, a green and a black one.
The green one is the only one that is luminous. The Fenix UC30 does include reverse polarity protection, so that will be able to protect against improper battery insertion. It does include overheat protection, so it's going to protect against high surface temperature. It is digitally regulated output, so it'll maintain constant brightness. Then the Fenix UC30 also offers low voltage warning. That's going to remind you whenever the battery is in need of changing. Now I'll go over the different modes that the Fenix UC30 includes. Starting with turbo, you have 1,000 lumens and that'll run for about an hour and 25 minutes. Then also on this mode, due to the protective set up, the light will automatically lower its brightness from turbo to high after working for three minutes. Therefore the turbo time is accumulated, but you can also always check the following runtime graph on the Fenix UC30 website to see the actual duration when the time limited downshift works.
Also, at that turbo level you have a 253 beam distance as well. Moving to the high mode, you have 350 lumens. That'll run for three hours and 20 minutes and have a beam distance of 156 meters. The medium mode is 150 lumens running for eight hours and 45 minutes. That'll throw the light around 101 meters. The low mode is 50 lumens and that'll run for an amazing 28 hours and 25 minutes. It has a beam distance of 58 meters. The super low eco mode has only five lumens, but that'll run for 150 hours. It has a beam distance of 21 meters. Then the last output that you have is strobe. That'll run for 1,000 lumens.
Now I'll go over what is included in the package whenever you order the Fenix UC30. You are given the lanyard, the holster, a spare O-ring, a micro USB rechargeable cable, a Fenix ARB-L18-2600 milli-amp rechargeable lithium ion 18650 battery. You are given an additional two spare rubber boots, switch boots. One is already located on the flashlight itself, so a total of three. Then of course the Fenix UC30. A few of the parameters of the Fenix UC30 are that the length is just over five inches, 5.1 inches to be exact. The head diameter is one inch. The body diameter is a bit smaller at .9 inches. Then the weight is 2.72 ounces with a head diameter of one inch. That'll fit an array of different accessories that we also have on our site.
Some of those accessories include our AOFS plus filter that we have several different colors in. It also will fit our AODS diffuser and then also our AOTS traffic wand. Then since it does not have a tail switch, it won't fit any of the gun mounts, or I'm sorry, it won't fit any of the remote pressure switches, but it will fit both of our gun mounts, both the ALG-00 and the ALG-01. Then another accessory that the Fenix UC30 will fit is our ALB-10 bike mount. Now to finish up I'll highlight a lot of the Fenix UC30 features. The first being the LED is the Cree XP-L HI V3 LED, that has a lifespan of 50,000 hours. It is powered by either a single Fenix 18650 battery or two CR123A batteries.
It is micro USB rechargeable. It has a lock out function, a battery level indication and then it does include a rubber boot, a rubber switch boot, that is luminous. It has a stainless steel side switch for output selection. It is digitally regulated, has a low voltage warning. It has reverse polarity protection. It has overheat protection.
