Hello. This is Josh with the Fenix store. Today we are going to be talking about the PD32 Fenix Flashlight, and the first thing we're going to talk about are the features of this PD32. One of the first features is that it uses a Cree XP-L high LED with a lifespan of 50,000 hours. It has a simple operation with the side switch for selecting the five brightness level modes, and the five brightness levels plus strobe are turbo, which is 900 lumens; it runs for about 1 hour and 55 minutes. High, which is 400 lumens, runs for about four hours. Mid, which is 150 lumens, runs for about 10 hours and 25 minutes, and low, which is 50 lumens;  runs for 37 hours. Then the very lowest is eco which is 5 lumens and runs for 260 hours.

The other features are the tactical tail switch with momentary on function, so you can half press the back tail switch to get momentary light. It also has an intelligent memory, which automatically memorizes the last brightness level when switched off. It's a TI coated body clip that is attached to it. It has a digitally regulating output to maintain constant brightness. It's got reverse polarity protection to protect from improper battery installation, overheat protection to avoid high temperatures of the surface, anti-roll slip resistant body design, side switch on the head. It's made of durable aircraft grade aluminum, premium type III hard-anodized anti-abrasive finish, toughened ultra-clear glass lens with anti-reflective coating, strictly in line with ANSI standard. It's waterproof to IPX-8 standard. That's most of the features that are on the PD32.

Compact Everyday Carry Flashlight

The length is about 5.10 inches, the diameter is almost an inch, and the weight is 2.72 ounces, excluding the batteries and the battery holder. Now, in this Fenix flashlight, batteries are not included. The batteries that we would recommend are our own, Fenix brand batteries, of those we have the ARB-L18-2600, the ARB-L18-2600u, the ARB-L18-2900, the ARB-L18-3500, or the ARB-L18-3500u, and the Tenergy 18650 that we have. Each has a different mAh. The higher the mAh, the longer the runtime between charges. Browse our flashlight battery selection. Now, we do have many different chargers that can charge 18650s, which are the ARE-C1P, the ARE-C2P, the ARE-X1, the ARE-X1P, and the ARE-X2. The P stands for plus. You can also get the ARE-X1 battery package deal. That comes with an X1 and a 2600 battery. Browse our battery charger selection.

You can also use two non-rechargeable CR123A batteries. Fenix does not recommend rechargeable CR123 batteries, since they will not perform according to the specification chart included for the PD32 2016 edition. One thing I might add is that the brightness levels and their run time with the lumens, is based solely off of our L18-3500 mAh battery, because it's our strongest battery, that's what they base the runtime off of. The lower milliamps will not be as long as those times, but it won't be far off, so you could still get those and still get a pretty long runtime out of it. The price of this flashlight is $61.95. That is very good, considering that the PD35, which is a step up, is 960 lumens with max, and this one is only 900 lumens. The 960 lumen PD35 is $10 more, so you're paying $10 for 60 more lumens and maybe a couple more features, so this is good if you don't want to spend too much money, but you're still looking for a high quality flashlight.

Perfect Everyday Carry Flashlight - the Fenix PD32

The PD32 2016 edition is an incredible all around Fenix flashlight. It has features that make it ideal for tactical users, outdoor situations, as well as indoor uses. It has an IPX-8 waterproofing standard that protects this light against water while its durable materials also protect it against drops, impacts, scratches, and corrosion. Getting this flashlight, you can use it for multiple things. If you're walking your dog, you can use it for that. You can also use it for a backup flashlight for a police officer or security. It has a bezel on the front, and strobe function to help for self-defense in that aspect. It also has quite a few accessories that you can get with it from our Fenix store. The PD32 can use the AOF-S+ red, blue or green filter. It can also use the AOD-S, which is a diffuser, which makes it like a lantern. I'd say that would be good for if you're walking your dog at night. You could also take that off really quickly and switch it into strobe function if you see a suspicious character walking towards you when you're walking your dog, so it's good for all situations.

The batteries that you use for it can be charged by all these flashlight chargers, The charger that I would recommend for the Fenix PD32 batteries, the 18650s specifically, would be the ARE-X2, because it can also charge most of the other batteries. It can charge 18650’s, 26650’s, AA rechargeable batteries, our Fenix 14500 rechargeable batteries, and even some of the Tenergy rechargeable batteries. The other reason I would suggest it is because it is cheaper than the ARE-C2P, which can also charge the same batteries that the ARE-X2 can, but it can hold four batteries at once instead of 2, and it shows the voltage of the batteries on the digital display. So if you want the cheaper but just as reliable I would get the ARE-X2, but if you want to spend the extra for the ARE-C2P I would definitely say that it’s worth it.

Some of the things that comes with the flashlight when you buy it are the Fenix PD32 everyday carry flashlight, of course, the holster, the pocket clip, the lanyard, the spare O-rings, a rubber switch boot, an instructions sheet and a warranty card.

Alright, so that's about it on the Fenix PD32 flashlight, a great EDC light.
