The Best Battery Chargers - Fenix ARE-C1+ and Fenix ARE-C2+

Welcome back to the Fenix-Store. Today I'm going to talk to you about the Fenix ARE-C1+ Charger, and the Fenix ARE-C2+ Chargers. They are similar in a lot of ways, but the main difference is that the C1 Charger is a two bay charger, and the Fenix C2+ Charger is four bay charger.

Beginning with the C1 Charger, again like I said, it's a two bay charger, it has a LCD screen for charging display. After you connect it to a power supply, the LCD screen will display the battery types, and the voltage, and the battery level of the batteries that you've inserted into it. There's two channels. They're separately controlled by two buttons. You can click either button, and the screen will cycle through the battery's voltage, the charging current, and the charging time. If you long press either of the buttons, it'll turn off the screen and continue to charge. Your charger can be powered by either A/C or D/C charging cord. It comes with a A/C cord, and you would have to purchase the A/C cord separately.

The C1+ is compatible with the 26650 battery, the 18650 battery, 16340, 14500, 1044, and double A, triple A, and C batteries, so it's got a pretty wide variety of batteries that it can charge, most everything that you need as far as a battery can be charged in this charger.

Included in the packaging for the C1+ is the charger, of course, A/C charging cable, and I may have said that the A/C cable comes separately, but it's the D/C cable that comes sold separately, the one that you'd have to plug into your automobile. Has a user's manual, so you can brush up on how to use it. The retail cost on the C1 is $24.95, so it's a pretty good buy for a real good charger. Had a lot of compliments on it. One of the things about it is the versatility of being able to have it in your automobile or in your home.

Next we have the Fenix C2+ Charger, which is a four bay charger for heavy users out there. It's compatible with different battery types as well. It has four channels and it's compatible with different types of batteries. It has a high definition LCD screen that shows you the charging status and the battery charging level. It has a car charging mode, which is good in that you can have it in your automobile as well as in your house.

It has multi-level testing circuits that keep it from overcharging, keep it from reverse polarity, and the battery as well has some built-in circuitry that keeps them from overcharging and over-voltage situations. It's compatible with the 26650, the 18650, the 16340, 14500, 10440, as well as double A's, triple A's, and C batteries. Like the C1+, after you connect it to the power, the LCD screen lights up, and it shows you what battery types are inserted in the different slots. It shows you the voltage, it shows you the battery charging level. It has a status bar that has an indicator that shows you how charged the batteries are.

All four channels are controlled separately. There's a button you can push for each channel that'll give you that readout, so if you have just one battery in it, just one of those channels will be lit up and tell you the information that you need to know. You click the button on each channel, and it'll cycle through the battery voltage, the charging current, and the time remaining for it to be completely charged, and you push and hold the button, it'll turn off the LCD screen or turn it back on. The Fenix C2+ Charger comes with the A/C plug, and you would have to purchase the D/C car adapter separately.

Again, it's got built-in multi-protection circuits for overcharge protection, over-current protection, short circuit protection, and reverse polarity. Both the C1+ and the C2+ are relatively lightweight, rather small, probably six inches in length and three or four inches wide, about a inch high, so their space is not going to be an obstacle for you.

What's included in the package is the charger of course, the A/C charging cable, got a user's manual to give you all the information that you need about the charger. This one is a little bit more expensive than the C2, but not that much considering that you get two more bays for charging, at a retail price of $39.95. It's a very good buy also, and both of these are smart chargers that have done very well for us and are real reliable and dependable, and remember if there's ever any problem with a Fenix product, Fenix-Store has a Warranty and Repair Department that will take care of those needs very quickly.
