Hello, and welcome back to fenixstore.com once again. My name is Jacob and today we will be talking about a certain line of battery products. This will be the Tenergy brand battery. That's spelled T-E-N-E-R-G-Y. This is not a Fenix brand of battery, not a Fenix battery, but it is a battery we carry here that we use a lot ourselves even around the office, in our repair center and that kind of thing. It is a little bit less expensive option to the Fenix brand batteries if you don't want to spend quite as much money up front even if they may not be quite as good as Fenix batteries. They will work in all of our Fenix flashlights. We have, of course, the 18650 and the CR123 in the Fenix flashlight that takes one of those batteries. It will be able to accept the Tenergy brand.
As stated, we do carry the CR123A Tenergy battery and the Tenergy 18650 battery. Both of those will work in many of our standard flashlights, especially our more popular models like the Fenix PD35, the Fenix UC series, many of the TK series flashlights and lots of the smaller Fenix pocket lights as well.
The 18650 version, in comparison to the Fenix 18650, the Tenergy 18650 will be about 100 charge cycles as far as the lifespan goes and it will be a 2600 milliamp battery. The milliamp level is the indication of how much capacity the battery has, so Fenix does make several higher milliamp, up to 3500 milliamps. If you were to get a 3500 milliamp battery, it would be about 30% more than a 2600 milliamp battery. There is also a Fenix 2600 milliamp battery which will have the same capacity as the Tenergy 2600 milliamp battery. The only real difference between the two will be the Fenix warranty, which on the Fenix batteries is one year, and of course, with Fenix batteries you have a 500 charge lifecycle along with that one year warranty. The Tenergy 18650 battery is going to be a little bit cheaper than the Fenix brand 2600 milliamp battery but it won't last you quite as long. It's a lower up front cost but will not last you quite as long in the long run.
As far as the quality of these one, you can be assured of the high quality of the Tenergy brand, not only in that we use them ourselves here, but we actually used to offer the Tenergy brand in all of our package deals, including an older Fenix PD35 Tac Complete Gun Kit that we used to offer. We did eventually switch over to the Fenix brand, but that is just because of keeping the brand the same. Fenix, the manufacturer, did request that we keep all of our package deals the same. Many of our other bundles, like with the Fenix TK16 case, the HL25 Fenix head lamp, all those they used to come with the Tenergy battery instead of the Fenix battery just to keep costs down. At this point, we have switched over in those packages to the Fenix brand battery but the Tenergy is still a quality battery. It can be used with any of our chargers as well. The Fenix PD35 charger will work with it.
Basically to wrap up it is just a little bit less expensive up front cost for a little less longevity.
The other Tenergy battery that we do offer is the CR123A battery. Now this is a battery that is most commonly used in photography. It is know as a photocell battery. But it also of course can be used in many flashlight brands. It is a little bit shorter and also a little fatter than a double A battery, so you wouldn't be able to use it on a light like the Fenix LD22, but two CR123A batteries basically take the place of a single 18650 battery, so you would be able to use it in many Fenix lights like the Fenix PD35 Tactical or the Fenix TK16. And even in several rechargeable flashlights like the Fenix HL60R, although the CR123A batteries are not rechargeable.
The CR123As have an advantage of only being about a dollar fifty each, we do sell them for that price or you can get a 10-pack for $12.99. They're very versatile items, like I said, you can use them in many of our more powerful flashlights, but also the smaller ones. Some of our cheapest Fenix flashlights actually use the CR123A battery as an option. Some people are not a fan of the CR123A because it is a little difficult to find, other than online. If you do find it at a store, like a Walmart or something like that, then you might find that it will be expensive, upwards of $6.00 dollars per battery. But if you purchase them online from our store, you will not pay more than the dollar fifty each.
These batteries also have a shelf life of up to 10 years. You can rest assured, you can know that you can stock up on these batteries and they will be ready and waiting for you whenever you need them.
I personally have two Fenix flashlights, I have the Fenix PD35 and the Fenix TK22, and I have an 18650 battery for both of those but I do of course also carry ... I have at least a 10-pack of the Tenergy CR123A batteries in my home at all times, just in case power ever goes out and I am not able to recharge those 18650s. The CR123A batteries are just a really great battery to have just in a back-up in case you're not able to charge up the 18650s again.
