Hello, this is Josh with the Fenix Store, and today we're going to be talking about one of our Headlamps today. The Fenix HP15UE.

This is one of Fenix's products for extreme expedition-type activities. Boasting of a rugged aluminum housing, a maximum of 900 lumens, and six modes to include a burst and SOS mode, and a separate battery pack to balance weight on the head. The thing about this headlamp with 583 beam distance, you are ready for caving, search and rescue, hunting, hiking, or any of your extreme adventures. Some of the specs on this is that is uses Cree XM-L2 (U2) LED with a life span of 50,000 hours.

It has four modes of operation plus a burst and an SOS mode. The burst mode is 900 lumens. The high is 400 lumens with three hours and 30 minutes. That's what the Ni-MH battery, or three hour and 10 minutes with an alkaline battery. Mid, which is 150, which is 10 hours with the Ni-MH battery and eight hours with the alkaline battery. Low, which is 50 lumens. That runs for 40 hours with a Ni-MH battery and 44 hours with an alkaline battery. Then eco, which is 10 lumens. That runs for 160 hours with a Ni-MH battery and 170 hours with an alkaline battery. It has an SOS, which is 50 lumens which goes for about the same as the low setting.

This headlamp is one of our, I'd say, four best. We have three newer ones that came out after this, which is the HL60R, HP25 and the HP30R. I believe the others are a little more expensive, and they're built for slightly different things, not exactly what this one's actually built for. This one's built for expedition type activities, so it's one of the best for that category of whatever you're trying to do in that like caving, hiking, stuff like that. It has a maximum beam distance of 583 feet, which is 178 meters. It's digitally regulated output maintains constant brightness. It has a lockout function that prevents the light from accidental activation. It has a 60 degree tilt mechanism. It has reverse polarity protection, which guards against improper battery installation. It's made from durable aluminum alloy and performance plastic. It has a toughened ultra clear glass lens with anti-reflective coating. It has separate four AA battery box provides for perfect fore-aft balance when head mounted. Cable is not long enough for jacket or waste carry of the battery pack. It has an IPX-6 water resistant rating. That protects against heavy splash and rain.

Now we're going to move on to the size of the headlamp. This headlamp is 2.7 inches by 2.2 inches by 1.4 inches. The battery box size is 3.5 inches by 2.9 inches by 1 inch. It is 5.4 ounces, which is excluding batteries and headlamp straps. The batteries used are four alkaline batteries that are included. It uses four 1.5 volt AA batteries, which are alkaline, or lithium non-rechargeable, or Ni-MH rechargeable batteries. A pack of four AA 1.5 volt batteries are available in a charger bundle if you would like to get that as well. There is a warning on this. It says do not mix batteries of different brands, size, capacity, or type. Doing so may cause damage to the flashlight or the batteries being used. Remove batteries for long-term storage to avoid electrolyte leakage.

We're going to talk a little bit about what's included in this. It comes with Fenix HP15 Ultimate Edition, which is the headlamp, two cable clips, four alkaline AA batteries, one user manual, and a warranty card. The diffuser is not included with this. The HP15UE is $64.95 in the Fenix Store, which isn't too much considering the quality of the flashlight you're getting.

Now I want to speak a little bit about this headlamp. We do of course have headlamps that are considered better in different ways, like some people would recommend more, but this flashlight headlamp is really good considering all the stuff that it has in it. Not everything that you do when you go out with the headlamp needs to have the best headlamp required. Somethings do not need that, and you would just be spending excessive money over something that you would not be using to its full potential. Whereas the Fenix HP15UE you could use to its full potential, get the best out of it with less money spent. I would really consider getting the HP15UE over having say the HP25 or HL60 if you're not doing anything too crazy. It's still good for hiking if you're just going out, hiking with some family, or maybe even going and checking out a cave. It's still really good, but it's ... It will still give you all that you need and more when you're out using it.

That's just a little bit to think about when you're choosing your headlamp. You don't always need the best, but we will always offer the best quality flashlights to you. Even if it might not be as good as some other flashlight, it will still be a really good quality and good for the situation that you're going to be using it for.
