The main feature of the HL50 is the use of a CR123A battery which can operate in extreme temperatures down to -40 degrees. Other favored features are a neutral white LED, three battery power options (CR123A battery, AA alkaline battery, or Ni-MH rechargeable battery), lightweight, durable construction, and compact profile.

The HM50R V2 headlamp is the same size and carries over most of the features from the HL50, but now has integrated USB recharging and has a maximum output of 700 lumens and an upgraded throw of 377 feet.

This light-weight, waterproof headlamp is budget friendly but carries some serious performance.
