Fennix HP16R Headlamp

"Nice light but battery life is short even on medium strength ,must be older battery .I have owned 2 other HP16R and they last longer on full charge."

A really good light for

"A really good light for caving as well as just around our off grid Alaska home. Really like rechargeable battery, but option to go with AA batteries is a great option when away from power for long cave trips. This is my second of this Fenix model. First has been excellent except latch for battery broke off in my pack. Currently has to be held closed with a zip tie which is a hassle. Also, recharge cover doesn't stay in place. But light options are really useful. Just wish there was a way to be warned when both lights are on.... Can draw things down mighty fast. I've also reinforced the cabling, based on problems with other company's lights. No problems there after several years of hard use. Hope the new one works as well. Well designed and very useful light."

"I charged it up but haven’t been out to use it yet. so far so good"

I purchased this light to

"I purchased this light to use as more of a spotlight than anything. Very good distance to the spot beam but the flood light was better than I expected. I also like the controls as it is easy to go from one brightness to another. There are a few things I don’t like. I purchased a second battery and it would be nice to be able to charge them without having to have it in the flashlight. Also it is very finicky when charging and the plus wants to unplug itself way too easily. All in all I really like it though."

Fenix HP16R

"Excellent headlamp. Love the option to add AA batteries if the rechargeable battery is depleted. Would love to be able to buy an extra rechargeable battery for the HP16R but can’t seem to find it on the Fenix website."

Reliable and Holds Charge

"This lamp produces a white light great for searching and emergency. It holds a charge for very long time in storage with the built-in battery and charges quickly. The external rear battery can be more cumbersome than the single battery unit setups."
