The HP30R V2 USB cover must be sealed to retain its full IP66 waterproof specifications.

Does the HP30R V2 headlamp feature a lockout mode?

The HP30R V2 does not have a lockout mode but you can easily protect yourself from accidental activation by loosening the battery case slightly. In this way, the batteries can still be secured in the case but they will not make a connection and therefore will not allow the LEDs to be activated.
