Product highlights

The Fenix HT32R is a rechargeable hunting flashlight that puts a long-range spotlight, a wide floodlight, and red, green, and blue light in one compact body. Its TIR multi-LED lens pairs a Luminus SFT42R spotlight LED with four Luminus SST20F flood LEDs and six Osram Ostar color LEDs. Together the white spot and flood put out up to 4000 lumens; the spotlight alone reaches 740 meters for picking out eyes and movement at distance, while the floodlight alone delivers 3200 lumens of wide, even light for tracking and working around camp.

The color modes cover the jobs hunters actually use them for: red (up to 400 lumens, with a Flash mode) for preserving night vision, green (up to 650 lumens, reaching 145 meters) for scanning without spooking game, and blue (up to 200 lumens) for following a blood trail. A three-position toggle switch on the neck selects Color light, Lockout, or White light, and the electronic switch steps through brightness levels and beam types, so everything works one-handed. The light remembers your last white-light output and the last beam or color you used.

It ships with a Fenix ARB-L21-5500 21700 battery that charges through a covered USB-C port on the neck in about 1.5 hours with a 9V fast charger, and a battery indicator shows the charge level each time you turn it on. The A6061-T6 aluminum body is IP68 rated and impact resistant to 1 meter, and the tail cap accepts a remote pressure switch. At 6.49 inches long and 9.14 oz with the battery, it comes with a holster for carry in the field.

*Do not use an 18650, CR123A, or 16340 battery. 21700 Li-ion batteries are powerful cells designed for commercial applications and must be treated with caution and handled with care. Using low-quality batteries or mishandling batteries (such as short-circuiting or overheating) could lead to combustion and jeopardize the safety of users and property. Any adverse effects resulting from the use of low-quality batteries are not covered by any Fenix warranty or liability. Using quality batteries with circuit protection will reduce the potential for combustion or explosion.

Battery Replacement

Unscrew the tail cap and insert the battery with the anode side (+) towards the light head, then screw the tail cap back on.

Charging

  • Slide the port cover to reveal the USB Type-C charging port, then connect the USB Type-C end of the charging cable to the flashlight.
  • The indicator displays red while charging and turns green when fully charged.
  • When charging fails or the battery is inserted backwards, the battery level indicator flashes red or stays off to remind you to check the battery.
  • Fast charging time for the included battery is approximately 1.5 hours from depleted to fully charged with a 9V/3A charging adapter (approximately 2.5 hours without fast charging, such as with a 5V/3A adapter).

Note: the flashlight can be used while charging. Brightness may vary depending on conditions, but the number of output levels stays the same. When a remote pressure switch is connected, the flashlight cannot be activated while charging.

Battery Level Indication

With the light off, single click the electronic switch to check the battery status; the indicator lasts 3 seconds. Each time the light is turned on, the indicator also shows the current battery level for 3 seconds.

  • Green light on: saturated, 100–85%
  • Green light flashes: sufficient, 85–50%
  • Red light on: poor, 50–25%
  • Red light flashes: critical, 25–1%

*Works only with a Fenix ARB-L21 21700 series battery.

Low-Voltage Warning

When the voltage drops below the preset level, the flashlight gradually reduces brightness. If the voltage is still too low, the battery level indicator blinks red to remind you to recharge or replace the battery, until the battery runs out. *Works only with a Fenix ARB-L21 21700 series battery.

Intelligent Overheat Protection

The flashlight accumulates a lot of heat when used at high output levels for extended periods. At 60°C/140°F or above, it automatically steps down a few lumens to reduce the temperature. When the temperature drops below 60°C/140°F, it gradually recalls the preset output level.

Usage and Maintenance

  • Disassembling the sealed head can cause damage to the flashlight and will void the warranty.
  • Fenix recommends using an excellent quality battery.
  • If the flashlight will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery, or the flashlight could be damaged by electrolyte leakage.
  • Lock the flashlight or remove the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transportation.
  • Long-term use can result in O-ring wear. To maintain a proper water seal, replace the O-ring with an approved spare.
  • Periodic cleaning of the battery contacts improves performance, as dirty contacts may cause the flashlight to flicker, shine intermittently, or fail to illuminate. A. Low battery level: replace or recharge the battery. B. Dirty contacts: clean the contact points with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol.
