Product highlights

The Fenix LD35R is a USB-C rechargeable tactical flashlight that doesn't stop at just being bright. A Luminus SST40 Gen2 LED delivers up to 1,800 lumens and a 337-meter beam, while versatile side COB panel lights in white, red, and blue turn the same tool into a lantern, a signal light, or an SOS beacon depending on what the moment calls for. A magnetic tail and stainless-steel bezel with ceramic glass-breaker tips add serious utility, all housed in HAIII-anodized aircraft-grade aluminum that weighs just 185 grams with the battery installed.

The included 3,400mAh 18650 battery (or 2x CR123A) runs from 2 hours 19 minutes on Turbo up to over 101 hours on Eco, with dual controls — a rotary toggle plus an electronic switch — making mode selection and brightness adjustment quick and intuitive. A built-in battery level indicator keeps you informed at a glance. Rated IP68 waterproof and 1-meter drop resistant, the LD35R is a rugged, do-everything tool that happens to double as a signal light whenever red or blue output is exactly what you need.

Q: What kind of LEDs are used in LD35R?

A: One COB light strip and one Luminus SST40 Gen2 LED, with a lifespan of 50,000 hours.

Q: What is the color temperature of LD35R?

A: Main light: 6500K. Side lights: 8000K.

Q: What is the working voltage and the working current of LD35R?

A: The working voltage is 2.9 V - 6.0 V and the maximum working current is 5.8 A.

Q: What is the runtime of the Turbo output?

A: The runtime of the Turbo output is 2 hours 19 minutes. However, the light will accumulate a significant amount of heat used at Turbo output. When the light reaches a certain temperature, the light will automatically step down a few lumens to reduce the temperature. Therefore, this runtime data is measured in total of runtime including output at reduced levels due to temperature or protection mechanism in the design. According to the ANSI/PLATO FL1 standard, this runtime data is from the results produced by Fenix through its laboratory testing under the temperature of 21±3°C. (For additional details, please check the runtime graphic in the user manual).

*According to the ANSI/PLATO FL1 standard, the initial reading of runtime is taken at 30 seconds of continuous operation, and the end point of reading is reached when the output value reaches 10% of the initial value.

Q: How to prevent accidental activation of the LD35R?

A: Turn off and lock the flashlight or take out the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transportation.

Q: Is LD35R rechargeable? How long is the charging time?

A: Yes, LD35R is rechargeable with an inner waterproof USB Type-C port. While charging, please follow the steps below:

  1. Turn off the flashlight and open the anti-dust cover to reveal the USB Type-C charging port, then connect the USB Type-C end of the charging cable to the flashlight.

2. The indicator will display red while charging and will turn green when fully charged.

3. Once charging is completed, be sure to unplug the charging cable and close the anti-dust cover.

The normal charging time of the included Fenix ARB-L18-3400 battery is approximately 3 hours from depletion to fully charged with a 5 V/2 A charging adapter.

Q: What are the optional accessories for LD35R?

A: The package comes with a lanyard, and a holster. Compatible accessories include: AOT-03 traffic wand, AOT-04 traffic wand, AOT-M traffic wand, AOD-M diffuser tip, etc.

Q: Why does the LD35R downshift to a lower mode after being used for a while and the higher mode cannot be selected?

A: There are two reasons:

1. Intelligent Overheat Protection

The flashlight will accumulate a lot of heat when used at high output levels for extended periods. When the light reaches a temperature of 60°C or above, the light will automatically step down a few lumens to reduce the temperature.

2. Low-voltage Warning

When the voltage level drops below the preset level, the flashlight is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until the lowest output level is reached.

Q: Why does the LD35R sometimes flicker?

A: The reasons that may cause the light to flicker, shine intermittently or even fail to illuminate:

1. Poor battery level.

Solution: Recharge or replace the battery.

2. The contact or contact point of the battery or light is dirty.

Solution: Clean the contact points with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol.

If the above methods don't work, please contact your authorized distributor.

Note: this feature only works with a Fenix ARB-L18 Series battery.

Usage and Maintenance

  • Disassembling the sealed head can cause damage to the flashlight and will void the warranty.
  • Fenix recommends using an excellent-quality battery.
  • If the flashlight will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery, or it could be damaged by electrolyte leakage.
  • Long-term use can result in O-ring wear; to maintain a proper water seal, replace the ring with an approved spare.
  • Periodic cleaning of the battery contacts improves the lamp's performance, since dirty contacts may cause the lamp to flicker, shine intermittently, or fail to illuminate. A) Poor battery level: recharge or replace the battery. B) Dirty battery or flashlight contact points: clean with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol. If neither resolves the issue, please contact the distributor.

Warning

  • Do NOT place this flashlight within the reach of children.
  • Do NOT shine the flashlight directly into anyone's eyes.
  • Do NOT place the light head near flammable objects — high temperatures can cause objects to overheat and ignite.
  • Do NOT use the flashlight in inappropriate ways, such as holding the unit in your mouth; doing so could cause serious personal injury or death if the flashlight or internal battery fails.
  • This flashlight will accumulate a significant amount of heat while operating, resulting in a high temperature of the light shell — pay close attention to avoid burns.
  • Turn off and lock the flashlight, or remove the battery, to prevent accidental activation when the light is placed in a closed, flammable environment such as a pocket or backpack.
  • The light sources of this flashlight are not replaceable, so the whole light will need to be replaced when any one of the light sources reaches the end of its lifespan.

"Underwhelming. It's a gimmick light. The high setting is marginal at best. I have a Fenix headlamp and hoped the flashlight would be good but its just not. Average."

“The lamp”

"I have several Fenix flashlights. But the ldr35R is my favorite without question. It’s so versatile with multi light setting within the lamp. And with the magnet is ideal when working on vehicles."

— Shea C. (5/5)

Perfect camping / hiking flash light.

"Perfect camping and hiking flashlight. If I need red, the switch stays on red, next time I turn it on, right back where it was. Can do the same with the side white light which can be one side or both with different power levels. The toggle switch is very tactile, no fumbling around. When I need a light in the dark camping, this is the go to, very easy to operate even half asleep. The side lights with red/blue and white are great. I have a Bushnell flashlight which does white, red and blue, but you have to cycle through the colors and intensities, great light but no memory. The LD35R is my ideal camping flashlight. I can use it as a flashlight or a lantern."

— Richard W. (5/5)

Great Lights!

"Fenix makes great lights. I like the availability of both white light & red light."

— Dom N. (5/5)
