The Fenix PD45R ACE is a multi-mode tactical flashlight. This summary is drawn from the manufacturer's official user manual — see the downloadable PDF reference manual on the product page for complete details.
Warning
- Do not shine the light directly into the eyes of anyone.
- Do not place this light in the reach of children.
- Do not place the light head near flammable objects — high temperatures can cause objects to overheat and become flammable/ignite.
- Do not use the light in inappropriate ways such as holding the unit in your mouth; doing so could cause serious personal injury or death if the flashlight or internal battery fails.
- This light will accumulate a significant amount of heat while operating, resulting in a high temperature of the flashlight shell. Pay close attention to avoid burns.
- Turn off and lock the light or take out the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transportation.
- The LED of this light is not replaceable; the whole light will need to be replaced when the LED reaches the end of its lifespan.

Operating Instructions
On/Off: tap the tactical tail switch to momentarily turn on the light; release it and the light will go out. Fully press the tactical tail switch to constantly turn on the light, and press it again to turn off the light.
Mode Switching: rotate the mode selector ring to cycle through General mode, Lock mode, and SET mode.
Output Selection: with the light switched on, rotate the mode selector ring to the General mode. Tap the tactical tail switch to cycle through Eco, Low, Med, High, Ultrahigh, and Turbo.
SET Mode: Defining Your Output Options
The SET mode is built-in with 6 options of different output settings, which can be selected based on different lighting demands.
- Rotate the mode selector ring to “SET” to switch to the SET mode. After entering the SET mode, the number of blinks from the flashlight corresponds to the previously selected option number (e.g. 6 blinks for Option 6, 5 blinks for Option 5).
- Fully press the tactical tail switch for option selection. The number of presses corresponds to the currently selected option number; the flashlight will blink that same number of times to confirm the selection.
- After the option selection is completed, the flashlight automatically memorizes the currently selected option. Rotate the mode selector ring to General mode to select outputs based on the chosen option.
- Option 1: Ultrahigh, Strobe
- Option 2: Turbo, Low, Strobe
- Option 3: Turbo, High, Eco, Strobe
- Option 4: Turbo, Ultrahigh, Med, Eco, Strobe
- Option 5: Turbo, Ultrahigh, High, Low, Eco, Strobe
- Option 6 (full set): Turbo, Ultrahigh, High, Med, Low, Eco, Strobe
Lock/Unlock
- With the light switched on, rotate the mode selector ring to the lock icon to lock the currently selected output — pressing or tapping the tactical tail switch cannot change the output or turn off the light.
- With the light switched off, rotate the mode selector ring to the lock icon to lock the tactical tail switch — pressing or tapping the tactical tail switch cannot turn on the light.
- Rotate the mode selector ring from the lock icon to any designated mode to unlock the tactical tail switch.
Strobe Mode: with the light switched on, press and hold the tactical tail switch for 0.5 seconds to enter the Strobe mode. Tap or fully press the tactical tail switch to exit the Strobe mode.
Intelligent Memory Circuit: the light memorizes the previously used lighting mode and the previously used output level, excluding Strobe. Each time it is turned on in General mode, the previously used output level will be recalled.

Note: the above specifications are the results produced by Fenix through its laboratory testing using one Fenix ARB-L21-6000 rechargeable battery under the temperature of 21±3°C and humidity of 50%-80%; the true performance of this product may vary according to different working environments and the actual battery used. *The Turbo output is measured in total of runtime including output at reduced levels due to temperature or protection mechanism in the design.
Battery Specifications
- Fenix ARB-L21 Series (21700, 3.6V): Recommended
- Rechargeable Battery, Li-ion (21700, 3.6V): Caution
- Battery without protection circuit, Li-ion (21700, 3.6V): Banned
Warning: do not use batteries that are banned in this user manual, and do not use batteries that lack any protection circuit. 21700 Li-ion batteries are powerful cells designed for commercial applications and must be treated with caution and handled with care. Using low-quality batteries or mishandling batteries (such as short-circuiting or overheating) could lead to combustion and jeopardize the safety of users and property. Using quality batteries with circuit protection will reduce the potential for combustion or explosion.
Battery Replacement: unscrew the light body and insert the battery with the anode side (+) towards the light head, then screw the light body back on.
Charging
- Loosen the light neck to reveal the USB Type-C charging port and battery level indicator, and connect the USB Type-C socket of the charging cable to the light.
- The indicator will display red while charging, and will turn green when fully charged.
- After charging is complete, be sure to tighten the light neck to maintain its dustproof and waterproof functionality for normal use.
Note: the normal charging time of the included Fenix ARB-L21-6000 battery is about 3 hours from depleted to fully charged with an 18W or above charging adapter. Recharge a stored light every four months to maintain optimum performance of the battery. The light cannot be operated while charging.
Battery Level Indication
Each time the light is turned on, the indicator will show the current battery level and stay illuminated for 3 seconds.
- Green light on: saturated, 100% - 85%.
- Green light flashes: sufficient, 85% - 50%.
- Red light on: poor, 50% - 25%.
- Red light flashes: critical, 25% - 1%.
Note: this feature only works with a Fenix ARB-L21 Series 21700 rechargeable battery.
Intelligent Overheat Protection
The light will accumulate a lot of heat when used at Turbo output or Ultrahigh output for extended periods. When the light reaches a temperature of 60°C/140°F or above, it will automatically step down a certain amount of lumens to reduce the temperature until Med output is reached. When the temperature drops below 60°C/140°F, the light will gradually recall the preset output level.
Low-Voltage Warning
When the voltage level drops below 3.0V, the light is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until Eco output is reached. When this happens in Eco output, the battery level indicator blinks red to remind you to recharge or replace the battery. To ensure normal use, the light will not turn off automatically and will work until the battery level runs out or the battery protection plate is triggered to stop discharging.
Note: this feature only works with a Fenix ARB-L21 Series 21700 rechargeable battery.
