The LD12R seamlessly integrates a powerful front LED for traditional flashlight needs and an additional side LED, perfect as a soft reading lantern. Its unique magnetic body clip allows for hands-free operation when attached to most metallic surfaces, and the sleek and concealed USB Type-C port offers discreet and rapid charging. Despite its 600-lumen output and 610-foot beam distance, the Fenix LD12R remains remarkably compact, making it effortlessly portable. The device is powered by an included 14500 battery but is also compatible with a standard AA battery for use as a backup. The flat base allows the light to tail stand and illuminate spaces from the ground up. The intelligent memory circuit will return the light on to your last-used setting every time you switch it on. Additionally, the LD12R is fully waterproof to IP68 rated standards and also withstands impacts up to 1.5 meters.

A lot still to be desired for EDC

"Here’s your review with improved grammar and flow: I purchased this light with high hopes, as I’ve owned other lights from this brand, but I feel like this one took a step in the wrong direction, particularly in terms of the details. First, the clip design is disappointing. The edge of the clip sits too close to the middle of the light, causing it to stick out of my pocket significantly. Additionally, the clip provides a shorter grip on my pants and less pressure than the metal clips on my other lights, increasing the likelihood of it falling out. Second, the functionality has changed in a way that doesn’t suit my needs. I can no longer half-press the button on the back for momentary activation; the only option is a full press accompanied by a loud click. I train with momentary activation to ensure I only use light when necessary, so this change is a significant drawback for me. While this light is lighter than my other Fenix models, the changes in design and functionality have taken it in the wrong direction, leaving me regretting my purchase."

"Great flashlight!"

John G. (5/5)

Great dual option light: bright, dim and slim.

"I live the ability to utilize to have a side light that can be adjusted for brightness. The magnets work pretty good. I like that it's slim compared to my CR123 battery flashlights. If I were to want anything else this flashlight to do, it would be a red light option. It's bright enough for security purposes and can be dim enough to use during low light times. I have only been using it for a week now and am really liking it. I have used the bright light to light up the yard at night and used the side light on dim to read documents in low light. It's a great all around light and easy to adjust to what ever brightness is needed."

PHILLIP M. (5/5)

Needs better switch between flashlight and area.

"I like everything about the light except how you switch between the flashlight and the area light. It's cumbersome to find just the right spot for it to switch."

HIGHWAY (4/5)

Great flashlight.

"I carry this flashlight for self-defense purposes because of the 600 Lumen output. It’s not only is compact, But it could be used to Disorient a person if necessary."
